 Great places to ride

 Aston Hill Down Hill Trails

Aston Hill is located on the Buckinghamshire/Hertfordshire border near to the market town of Tring. It is easily accessed from all parts of the country and is approximately 30 minutes from Junction 20 of the M25 (or junction 6A of the M1).

Featuring some fantastic Downhill trials appropriately marked for skill Red, Black. Also Aston has a very challenging XC route and 4X course the only downside to Aston Hill is there isn't an uplift service so fit legs are required!

Entry is £5 and allows you to park all day and enjoy the fun on offer. However bring food and drink as there is no local facilities for refreshments.

For more information please visit  Aston Hill

Cwm Carn Downhill

Downhilling - is great fun, but strangely hard work!! However "pushing up" is not an issue at Cwm Carn, arguably Wales' best permanent downhill course which even includes an excellent XC course and freeride area. Be warned the XC course is a killer!! Opened in 2005 and a uplift service is provided by the Cwmdown uplift service.

Prebooking is essential (costs £22) this provides unlimited uplifts for a day.

The course itself is superb, about 1900m long, dropping a healthy 250m. Fast and smooth in some sections, fast and lumpy in others. It contains enough jumps, berms, switchbacks and rocks to keep anyone happy! This course is not one to take lighty and will quickly make you realise how much extra effort you need to put into your riding to get the most out of it!!

It's certainly not a course to have your first offroad experience on unless you've dabbled in a bit of downhill!  Cwm Carn is a world class downhill track and it deserves respect. However don't let that put you off as I've had tons of fun and I'm sure much much more in the future!
